About Dayton Match Play Championship
The biggest match play event in Dayton!
This free-to-play tournament is designed for local Dayton disc golfers. Our goal is to provide an experience that breaks down divisional walls and allows players to compete against people they might not see at a traditional tournament. All players are entered into the same single-loss elimination bracket regardless of age or skill. Our hope is that you're able to meet, compete, and have at least one more friendly face to run into during future rounds. Of course, we're also hoping to see some amazing matches along the way and at the end of the season crown a champion.

Tournament History
The inaugural tournament in 2019 manifested from a fun concept to a 108 person bracket in less than 48 hrs. A couple local sponsors were quickly on board and with their support we had a functional event.
Each year we learn and implement changes so the tournament runs as smoothly as possible. For example, we're developed a process to seed a 256 player bracket that is balanced and allows for regional matchups in early rounds.
In just a couple years this tournament has grown to a 256 player bracket with participants from all over the greater Dayton area. The player base has representatives from all groups from high schoolers to retirees, novice players to touring pros, both male and female players. You never know who you're going to matched up against!

What's the prize?

Your name forever engraved on the Championship trophy on display at Hazy Shade for future generations to see and bragging rights for the year!
We're going back to the roots and playing for pride and the love of the game.
Who can register to play in the event?
Due to the popularity of this event, participation is limited to players in the greater Dayton area. The event would not be possible to complete with a 512 person bracket. Registrations will be reviewed before the bracket is developed to ensure we mitigate delays in matches due to out-of-area players. Thanks for your understanding!
